The New York Times reports that many libraries set their Internet filters at the highest settings, which often blocks useful health research sites.
I just don’t understand this — although filtering software isn’t perfect, most of these programs do have the ability to be customized. Why is this happening?
Windows Messenger opens the door to popups
Do you use Windows Messenger? If you do, you might consider disabling the program, if you hate those annoying pop-up ads. An article in PC World reports that a new type of pop-up ad takes advantages of weaknesses in the Messenger program, and can even avoid many pop-up killers.
