Did you ever wish you could report that wily Nigerian scammer to the police? One person did, and it turns out the Nigerian was a Canadian…

Search without opening a browser
If you can’t wait to open a browser to conduct an Internet search, Google feels your pain. Yesterday it introduced the Google Deskbar, which installs on your taskbar, allowing you to enter searches at the desktop level.
Too strong for its own good
The New York Times profiled the Google Toolbar yesterday, specifically discussing the utility’s pop-up blocker and its apparent super-strength. A helping hand to fight spam

Now the anti-spam forces are trying out a reverse elimination process: find spam by concentrating on legitimate e-mail.
Spam enablers
Anti-spammers traditionally use tools like traceroute and whois to locate the IP address of the computer spammers are using. Now some hackers are helping the spammers — by developing “invisible bulletproof hosting” that protects a network from such sleuthing tools.
